Our story

Built on Conviction,
Driven by People

R.J. Greeley Company was born in 1981 from something far more powerful than capital: conviction.

Founder Robert J. Greeley, known to everyone as Bob, began with ten years of hard-earned experience in commercial and industrial real estate and a reputation for doing things the right way. Before starting his own firm, he gave six months’ notice to his mentor, Jack MacMillan. That gesture reflected the integrity he would bring to the company.

At the same time the company was incorporated, Bob welcomed his third child. Long days, long nights, and a belief that relationships matter helped the firm become a trusted name across Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut.

That trust turned into impact. For more than four decades, the firm has helped shape the region through sales and leases, property management, and development and redevelopment projects.

Its work includes assembling land for what is now Riverdale Shops in West Springfield, brokering the sale of a combined one million square feet for Digital Equipment Corporation in Westfield, and transforming the first Federal Armory Building in the United States into what is now Springfield Technology Park.

Brendan Greeley, the son born the same year the company began, joined the firm in 2003 after Saint Michael’s College and became President in 2017. He carries forward the values his father built the firm on: integrity, relationships, and doing right by clients and community alike. The market has evolved, but the heart of the company remains the same: shaping the future without forgetting where it started.

President

Brendan joined the family business in 2003 after graduating from Saint Michael’s College. He has guided transactions across industrial, office, medical, multifamily, and telecommunications properties, and became President in 2017.

The second generation of R.J. Greeley Company began when Brendan joined the family business in 2003. He has been involved in millions of square feet of real estate transactions, spanning telecommunications, industrial warehouse, multi-family housing, office and medical space. Beyond business, Brendan serves on the boards of the Dunbar Community Center, Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts, and the East Longmeadow Educational Endowment Fund.
